WHAT ARE REQUIREMENTS/PROCEDURE TO LEGALLY PROTECT INTEGRATED CIRCUIT TOPOGRAPHY?

Legal protection of topography is exercised in an administrative procedure by a competent authority.

The procedure to protect topography is instituted by application for topography protection to a competent administrative authority (the Intellectual Property Office).

Every topography requires a separated application.

Application contains the request to acknowledge topography rights and enclosed documents.

Request to acknowledge topography rights contains:

1) name of topography;
2) applicant and topography creator data, if applicant is not a creator;
3) application date;
4) date of creating topography, if topography was not commercially used, or date and place when topography was commercially used for the first time anywhere in the world.
