HOW TO ACQUIRE THE RIGHT TO USE SOMEONE'S AUTHOR'S WORK?

General rule is that the rightholder  can exercise their rights in two ways:

- through their own exploitation in any specified ways stipulated by law;
- by giving licenses to others, or by transferring their right to others.

Giving licenses, i.e. permits to exploit copyright is followed by payment of belonging author's fee in most cases.

Another way of exploiting work is by transfer of rights to other person to whom complete ownership of rights is transferred (exclusive, unlimited right to use any but moral rights of the author). Legally, it is similar to sale, whereas licensing is very close to renting.
